Today marks my final day at Crosstide (formerly 101 Ways). I joined 101 Ways back in 2023 after hearing consistently strong things from people I trusted. When I met the team, it lived up to that reputation, a group deeply committed to solving real problems and grounded in principles that genuinely shaped how we worked. Leaving wasn't an easy decision, but it was the right one. For now, I'm going to take a much-needed break, and I'll be back soon!

After nearly 6 months of planning, Andrea Caldera and I are excited to introduce ELEVATE, a modern framework for engineering excellence. This framework serves as a guide for technology leaders and engineering teams, drawing from our extensive experience working within and shaping high-performing engineering teams. ELEVATE helps technology leaders measure what matters, giving a 360ยฐ view of engineering performance across six core pillars.

When developer productivity stalls, it's rarely due to the use of bad tools. It's the culture around them. One team I worked with had over 50 engineers. They had CI/CD. They had Agile. They tracked DORA metrics. And yetโฆ delivery was glacial. Why? Because there was no shared ownership. No investment in craft. No belief that people were worth growing.
